AVIS Puppet Show
About
AVIS is one of the students’ activity units in the English Letters Department, from Universitas Sanata Dharma. It provides accommodation for students who wish to express their creativity in the world of storytelling by using various tools such as puppetry and animations.
Vision & Mission
We aim to provide freedom for the creative minds of students and give support for every story created by English letters students regardless of its medium. Our goal is to provide a comfortable environment, maintaining a caring and friendly approach in both process and publication, of their work and our own work.
History
Our name used to be AVIS Puppetshow, where our activity revolves around telling stories and creating stories while making and playing puppets. The origin of AVIS started back then around the incident of Merapi eruption in 2006. AVIS goal was to entertain the children in the evacuation camp of Merapi eruption. However in 2023, we decided to change our name to AVIS Teller of Tales in order to accomodate a wider range of activities for students. Students can now create and share the stories that they have created through different kinds of media other than puppetry, such as through animations, stage performance, and etc.
