In August and September 2016, scores of students of the English Language Education Study Programme or PBI-ers, for short, of Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta succeeded in defending their final papers and theses in order to complete their undergraduate studies and obtain a degree of Bachelor of Education (BEd or Sarjana Pendidikan - SPd) in English education. For a final paper. also known as a research paper, a PBI student is required to write at least 20 pages or approximately 6,000 words. If writing a thesis, a PBI-er is required to write minimum 40 pages or more or less 12.000 words. There exist three main streams to choose, namely English learning-teaching, educational literature and educational linguistics.
