Never Get Too Old to Celebrate KARTINI DAY

diupdate: 12 tahun yang lalu

The 21st of April, Raden Ajeng Kartini’s birth date, was declared by President Sukarno as Kartini Day in 1964. By Tuesday (21/04/2015), it was the 51st official celebration of Kartini Day to posthumously commemorate Kartini as a heroine for women’s right in Indonesia. The titular day has always been associated with traditional costumes and carnivals to, supposedly, replicate Kartini’s attire; however, truly it is more than a costume party, it is an epiphany of national pride.

To celebrate the day, teachers and staffs of Language Institute of Sanata Dharma University also wear traditional costumes to work. Bahasa Indonesia teachers concurrently teach while wearing the all beautiful, vibrant Indonesian attires from many parts of the country. Meanwhile, secretariat staffs also engraves hearty smiles over the traditional Javanese kebaya and surjan.

It has never been a costume party, it is an exhibition of Indonesia with quintessences of excellence inspired by Kartini (PD).

Enjoy the vibrant beauty of Indonesia presented by Language Institute of Sanata Dharma University from pictures below.
