The purpose of this activity is to improve the English skills of the staff responsible for international programs at the university so that the internationalization process will be optimized.

The activity was a 120-hour intensive English language course. The course was delivered in four weeks. Each week participants studied for 20 hours in the class and had independent study for 10 hours. The program was conducted from 31 July 2022 – 27 August 2022. The program was run during the semester break in the home university, so that the participants were easier to leave their workplace. There were 60 topics which discuss English for general use and for specific purposes, especially specific skills for internationalization, such as presentation and writing of proposals. The participants were 20 International staff from small and medium-sized universities, members of BKPTKI and APTIK in Indonesia and Timor Leste.

This program gave a chance to our university to help the staff responsible for international programs at the small university in the Eastern part of Indonesia and Timor Leste, which are mostly financially limited, to upgrade their English proficiency related to internationalizing their institutions. The execution of the program is in line with spirit that Sanata Dharma University embraces to help the disadvantaged. This program has also benefited Sanata Dharma University in that it can extend networking among higher education institutions, particularly those in the Eastern part of Indonesia and Timor Leste.
