AVIS Tellers of Tales to Start Recording This Year's First Storytelling
AVIS Tellers of Tales, previously called AVIS Puppet Show, has spread their wings like the mascot bird in their logo. They evolved to reach a wider audience and accommodate broader storytelling interests by embracing digital technology in telling their tales. On Friday, 03 May 2024, they recorded their voices at the Faculty of Letters' mini studio for a storytelling project. The recording session was engaging for the members since they learned how to work together to improve their storytelling skills.
The project has been prepared for five months. In January, they brainstormed the ideas for the plot and the narratives. They also cast the characters to fill in the voices. The story is written by two creative AVIS members, Dayang and Helen. They set the characters, characterization, plots, settings, and other intrinsic elements. After that, the AVIS team met and spent time refining the storyline, practicing pronunciation and articulation, and perfecting the dialogue. They do their best for this project.
To spill the tea a little bit, nine voice actors and actresses play 11 role characters in the story. They are Pandji, Wulan, Tata, Ram, Abbie, Vladi, Angie, Daffa, and Charlie. The story is about the vengeance of a primary child character, seeking justice for their parents' death at the hands of a villain. The plot revolves around the child's struggles, fights, and successful winnings. According to Dayang, the writer, the story is written for young adult listeners. It is written explicitly for children due to its complex themes.
The story will adapt to technology advancement. It will be delivered audio-visually along with animation. Listeners will not only enjoy the story through recorded voices but also enjoy it visually. The project is envisioned to be published by the end of this May. Let us wait for it. Please visit the AVIS Tellers of Tales Instagram account to learn more about this project.
