The Thesis Proposal Seminar (the Grand Seminar) for the students of 2015 will be held on January 23 – 27, 2017. Each student will be allotted 30 minutes for the presentation and question-answer session. The presentation time is 15 minutes and should be used mostly to discuss chapter I and chapter III. A discussion on the theories is not expected, but the explanation of how the theories are going to be used to answer the research questions are needed.
To present their proposal in the seminar, the students are required to follow the following steps.
- Submit one hardcopy of their proposals which their advisor has approved. The cover page of the proposal should be yellow for the education students, green for the linguistics students, and pink for the literature students. The submission deadline is Monday, January 16, 2017 before 2:00pm.
- Submit a softcopy of their their proposal and Powerpoint in a folder named EDU_156332xxx, LING_156332xxx, or LIT_156332xxx, depending on their area of concentration. The proposal should be saved in a .rtf format, and not .doc or .docx. The folder is , then, compressed in a zip file and sent to els@usd.ac.id by 4:00pm January 16, 2017.
The students' full participation in the seminar is required, and students who cannot attend all the presentations are required to write a letter of permission to the Department Chair.
