 Magister Manajemen USD News - The international workshop started at 5.30 pm and all the participants were welcomed by the committees and had coffee time before the workshop started. There were approximately 57 people who participated in this workshop. (also mention about the participants, such as from what university or institution). The workshop was opened by the head of Magister Management, T. Handono, MBA, Ph.D, to welcome all the participants and the speaker in this workshop. Handono also expressed the gratitude for everyone who participated in the workshop. Before the workshop started, the head of Magister Management gave a short speech about four pillars in Management and he also mention about his deep gratitude for the speaker, who was coming from Australia.
The workshop, moderated by Raras, began with a plenary session presenting Professor Ferry Jie, Ph.D as the speaker. Ferry Jie is a lecturer in Edith Cowan University, Australia. He was majoring in Supply Chain Management and has been known as a speaker for various conferences, public lectures and research workshop in some countries like Australia and Indonesia. Mr. Ferry Jie, Ph.D started the workshop by giving a short explanation about what is a supply chain. After that, he presented about supply chain management structure, supply chain design and also gave many examples about that. He explained that the supply chain design and technology decision is of great strategic importance to logistics, the firm as a whole and the supply chain. “A number of factors may suggest the need to design the supply chain and number of factors including technology may affect the design of logistics and supply chain,” stated him.
After presentation from Mr. Ferry Jie in the plenary session, the workshop continued with a dinner before headed to the next session which was question-answer session. The question and answer session that follows, more like a warm and fun discussion. There were seven participants who asked about anything related to Supply Chain Management. Professor Ferry said that he was very pleased because the participants were active and enthusiast in this workshop.
To end the workshop, Ferry Jie gave some advices about his five recipes to become a successful person. Even though it was not really related to the topic but he wanted the participants to be more discipline in this life. He said that the first recipe is to work hard and smart. Then, the second is you should go in any opportunities. The third is never give up. “If you have problem, it’s okay. You can try again for the next opportunities,” he added. Next, keep moving forward and never look at the back. The last recipe is you have to manage yourself, work hard – work smart, stated Prof. Ferry Jie, closing the international workshop.
