ACUCA CAMP 2016 Part 3 :: Magister Manajemen
Magister Manajemen USD News, ACUCA day 3 - August 24th 2016. The third day of the ACUCA program activities was not too crowded. It was slow movement but it was tiring. The main activity was a spiritual journey to mount Padang. It is a pilgrimage symbol for the completion of human life. It is not the physical only but also the spiritual one. After having breakfast at the Aloysius guest house, we went to Rawabogo village, the mount Padang place, by bus. The people welcomed us by a local dance (Sudanese dance) and it was a great experience for all participants. After that, we started our pilgrimage to reach to top of mount Padang by feet. In the gate of mount Padang, the spiritual guardians (juru kunci) gave us some historical information about mount Padang.

Mount Padang or Pasir Pamipiran was mentioned in the history of the kingdom of Galuh (536-852AD) and it was also known as the spiritual seat of king Prabu Premana Dikusuma. In Sunda, the wisdom treats Jalma (from Sundanese Jelema) and Manusa differently, in which the former refers to bodily existence and the latter to completion of being human. Jalma is just an embodiment that is far from fulfilled. It takes further refinement both physically and mentally. On the contrary, manusa refers to kamanusaan that has three different aspects: Kami is oriented toward the Devine, kama toward parental existence and nusa toward nature as ‘fellow creatures’. It means that the universe has always existed and will always exist to perfectly complement humanity. The spiritual journey, then, or nyucruk galur is to find the form (tanggara), the name (ungkara) and  the meaning (uga) of each stone in mount padang. These stones invite pilgrims to ‘read’ (understanding) and ‘write’ (refine the self, rasa, and the nagara). There are 17 stones to the spiritual journey: mata air cikahuripan, lawang saketeng, batu palawangan ibu, batu paibuan, batu payipuhan, batu poponcoran, batu kaca saadeg, batu gedong peteng, batu karaton, batu kutarunggu, batu masjid agung, batu bumi agung, batu korsi gading, batu pakuwon eyang prabu siliwangi, batu lawang tujuh, batu padaringan or leuit salawe jajar, and puncak manik. We took a trip to the top of the mount Padang and we just passed some stones. At top, there were a traditional celebration for the ancestor, explanation of value that can be applied in Christianity and eat together. After that we went down and took a rest the local house and got some drinks and snacks.

We, then, moved to the place where we were welcomed in the morning. There were gamelan music and sisinga playing the local community and we were invited to dance together. The participants were very excited and incurred the party more interesting and crowded. About a few minutes they danced. We had a snack and dinner beside the place where the music was playing. Before went home, some Japanese and Korean introduced themselves to the audience in English and tried to give some Indonesian greetings. The day was very tired but full of joy.

ACUCA DAY 4 - August 25th 2016. The fourth day was the amazing one for all participants. It looked like the climax of the program. There were two main activities all the days. The first was the exposure or it, sometimes, was similar to an immersion. We divided to some groups and moved to each place where the committee had chosen and prepared that was a family near to guest house. My group milked the pets (cows) of the family and supplied foods for the cows. We also learned how to harvest tea. When we backed to guest house, all participants shared each other. By sharing, we knew that that the exposure was the excited one for the participant because they were able to live with the villagers.

At the evening, we performed the cultural exchange. Each country performed their own cultural like pop song that was performed by Korean, Hongkong and Thailand, traditional was performed by Indonesian, Indian, Philippine, etc. It was very great. Everybody joined the participants who showed their culture. There was no body shy or not active. Everyone was excited as we all were so ‘crazy’ at the activities. In the moment, every country also shared our own traditional food. Every country brought so many different kinds and tasty food. The room was full of people with different and unique dress.
By the activities, we challenged to get some values of others and also to understand the meaning of life and diversity. In the last show, we took some pictures and it was so sad because it was the last activities before all participants will go home back the each other hometown tomorrow. Many of participants felt so sad, and somebody cried in the end of show. After that, everybody prepared their own baggage. The day was great and also so sad for whole participants.

ACUCA DAY 5 - August 26th 2016. It was the last day. Each participant shared some merchandise in the morning. Each participant gave a hug. After breakfast together, the participants from Japan, Korea, India, Philippine, Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong leaved first the Aloysius guest house by bus and went to the airport, Husein Sastranegara international airport Bandung and Soekarno-Hatta international airport.
The Indonesian participants left the guest house and the bus brought us to Parahyangan University. Some participants were straightly carried to railway station. We, Sanata Dharma university student, went around Bandung before back tomorrow (Saturday). We visited Cihampelas walk and Teras Cikapundung. Both the place were nice and there so many local and foreign tourist there.

We bought some Bandung traditional foods and commodities for gift to our friends in Jogjakarta. The day gave us so many experiences. ACUCA program was end, and we are ready to share and keep fighting for other activities. That was the great experiences for us. Now, the participants start to have a communication in the social media as Instagram, Line and Facebook. Friend is forever.
