 Magister Manajemen USD News - Monday August 22nd 2016. ACUCA Student Camp 2016 is held on 22-26th of August 2016, Ciwedy Indonesia. Parahyangan Catholic University is the host for this event. The Association of Christian and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA) was formally established at a founding conference held on December 6-9, 1976 in Manila. The purpose of ACUCA is to develop and maintain their Christian character, enrich the quality of their educational programs and those of the other institutions of learning dan re-examine the relevance of their objectives and programs in relation to the needs of a changing society. The Countries that join the ACUCA are Hongkong, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, and Thailand. There are 60 universities become member of this association.
For this time, 96 parcipants of 34 universities, join this program. Two participants of MM USD are Tappin Pandapotan Saragih and Oktavianus Jeffrey Budiarto. Eight students of Sanata Dharma University participate in all activities that has been prepared by the committees. After the train had run about 8 hours, we finally arrived at Bandung railway station. The committees picked up us and went to Wisma of Parahyangan. There we met some friends from the others countries. We gathered together and introduced ourselves to each other. About 12.00 PM, we gathered at main building of Parahyangan University. There were opening ceremony and having lunch together. After that, we went to Ciwedy where all main activities would be held by bus. In the trip, it was a chance to talk more to other participants and to know deeper about others. It was about 3 hours to reach the place.
In the Aloysius Guest House at Jalan Cisondari-PPTK, Gambung Km.7 Bandung,the committee divided us into some groups with different participants (countries) to stay at our dormitory room. After dinner, we took a opening worship: “Value Of Spirituality In Ordinariness”. Before went to bed, each country prepared their “Country Presentation” for the next day. Overall, the day was very great, talking about background, major at campus, and learning how to communicate each other in English with a lack of vocabulary. It was funny because most of the participants are not too good in English. (Tappin)
