Sanata Dharma University (SDU) and Hull University (HU) which is located in the United Kingdom held a meeting in order to increase cooperation between both parties on Monday, May 15, 2017. During the meeting, SDU and HU were accompanied by representatives of the British Council as the party which connected SDU and HU. At the meeting, the USD was represented by the Rector of USD, Drs. John Eka Priyatma M. Sc., Ph. D., Vice Rector I, Mr. Drs. Tarsisius Sarkim M.Ed., Ph.D., Vice Rector IV, Mr. FX. Ouda Teda Ena, M.Pd., Ed. D, Head of Language Institute, Ms. Dr. Bernadine Ria Lestari, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Mr. Ir. Drs. Hansiyadi Yuli Hartanto, M.Si., Akt., Dean of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mr. Pius Nurwidasa Prihatin Ed.D., and Vice Dean of Faculty of Letters, Ms. Anna Vitriati S.Pd. M. Hum, while UH party was represented by Prof. Andrew Abbott as the Director of Academic Partnership and Ms. Caroline Michel as the Manager of International Partnership. The British Council was represented by Ms. Lisa Wilianto.
The agenda of the meeting was the consolidation of the cooperation beginning with the presentation of Hull University in general and discussion of the programs that will be included in the collaboration agreement. After introducing the University of Hull, the parties who attended the meeting held in the Rector Meeting Room discussed the programs, which will be conducted by both parties and will be included in the collaboration agreement of both parties. These programs include fast track programs, student and faculty exchanges, and double degrees. In addition to these programs, USD is also interested to join the Summer Program held by the HU. This intention was well responded to by the HU representatives by saying that they will be very happy and they will try to make the program cost affordable for SDU students. The meeting ended with a souvenirs exchange from both parties. SDU and HU representatives felt elated for the well-packaged and valuable souvenirs. The meeting was closed with a photo session together. Moreover, with the meeting, SDU, HU and British Council hope that this collaboration will be a fruitful collaboration so as to advance education that can address current global challenges. (Ck)
