Monday (14/5), a representative from Instituto São João de Brito, East Timor, started his first training at Sanata Dharma University library. This training is one of the cooperations between Sanata Dharma University and Instituto São João de Brito where both are in the AJCU-AP (Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities in Asia Pacific).
The training was represented by Mr. Castilo Atino S. Viera as library staff of Instituto São João de Brito and organized by the Bureau of Cooperation and International Relations (BKHI). Before starting the training, Mr. Castilo Atino S. Viera was welcomed by the Rector of USD Johanes Eka Priyatma, M.Sc., Ph.D. and the Head of Sanata Dharma University Library Drs. The materials for this training are library management and policy of library, collection development, processing, library automation/computerization using SliMS application, library service, and preservation of library collection. This training material is adapted to the needs of Instituto São João de Brito because this institution officially opened in 2016 so it still needs lots of development in terms of education and other fields.
Sanata Dharma University hopes that once the training is completed, representatives from Instituto São João de Brito can return to their institution and apply what has been obtained at Sanata Dharma University related to library management and with this training, the cooperation between Sanata Dharma University and Instituto São João de Brito will continue to grow both in education and in other fields.
