The workshop was delivered by Dr. Willy A. Renandya, on Friday, November 23, 2012 - Saturday, November 24, 2012 in Maulana Room, Central Library, Sanata Dharma University. Dr. Willy A. Renandya is a language teacher educator with extensive teaching experience in Asia, currently teaching at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is a frequent speaker at International Conferences and has published extensively, including an edited book entitled "Methodology in Language Teaching: An Anthology of Current Practice" with Jack C. Richards, (CUP, 2002, 2008).
To the uninitiated, getting published in an international journal can be quite daunting and the process may seem a bit mysterious. How does one get started? Which journal to send the manuscript to? Is there a standard format and style to follow? How long is the wait time? What happens if our manuscript gets rejected? In this workshop, Dr. Willy A. Renandya discussed the key processes of writing for internationally refereed journals. Using a hands-on approach, he illustrated key points in the publication process using authentic examples of manuscripts that have previously been submitted for publications. Dr. Willy A. Renandya also shared with the workshop participants samples of actual reviews of journal manuscripts. The participants were also invited to read and review samples of previously submitted journal manuscripts to gain a better insight into the review process.
